Responsibilities

Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is recruiting a full-time or part-time Diagnostic Radiologist to join our care team of 28 radiologists. This position offers multidisciplinary collaboration with a collegial team of dedicated and talented providers and staff, and the opportunity to teach residents in our diagnostic radiology residency program.

Team Approach to Diagnostic Imaging. The radiology team collaborates with our clinical colleagues to provide diagnostic imaging for a wide variety of patients from across the Puget Sound region and the Pacific Northwest. Radiologists participate in tumor board and multidisciplinary conferences with medical and surgical specialists. All members of the team have the same cultural approach to care: the patient comes first. In addition to providing care in diagnostic neuroradiology, the candidate should have solid skills in abdominal imaging.

 


Teaching Program. Virginia Mason supports residency programs in radiology, anesthesiology, surgery, and internal medicine. Radiology faculty have come to Virginia Mason to teach as it is an important part of our mission. Teaching is a requirement and a highlight of what we do at Virginia Mason. Residents cover the hospital radiology service in-house on weeknights from 7:30 pm until 7:30 am and on weekends from 5:00 pm to 7:30 am. There is no in-house overnight call for attending radiologists.

 


Research. Research is not required but is supported for those with an interest in clinical research or quality improvement. Internal pilot grants are available. The Virginia Mason Center for Health Care Improvement also supports publication of innovations in health care delivery and quality improvement.

 


Career Growth. The radiology department and other departments within the medical center are dedicated to training and developing physician leaders from within the organization for clinical leadership roles.

Qualifications

  • BC/BE in diagnostic radiology
  • Fellowship in body imaging or greater than 3 years’ experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of Washington
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
